V-excision modification for direct necklift

Occasionally, patients wishing to have an excessive fold of fat and skin removed from their anterior neck region refuse to undergo a classical rhytidectomy. These patients might therefore be candidates for direct neck skin incision. The author describes eight such patients who underwent a V-excision modification with Z-plasty for direct necklift, with reasonable results achieved in six.

Sagittal fractures of the palate: A new method of treatment

Traumatic injuries to the midface occasionally result in fractures of the hard palate. These fractures may occur as isolated injuries but are more commonly associated with comminuted midfacial fractures. A new technique for stabilizing complex vertical fractures of the maxilla, by plating from the nasal side of the fracture, is described.

Bacillary angiomatosis: A unique cutaneous complication of HIV infection

As the prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection increases, so does the recognition of unusual manifestations of this syndrome. This study describes two patients with a unique, rare cutaneous manifestation of HIV infection bacillary angiomatosis.
